If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.

HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for legitimate business purposes and as allowed by law. If you stop using our Service, you can close your account, and your profile will no longer be visible to other users. If you are inactive for two years, we will close your account automatically. After your account is closed, we will delete your personal information as follows:

Safety Retention Window

• Account Closure: We keep your information for three months after you close your account.
• Account Ban: We keep your information for one year after your account is banned.
• Purpose: This period allows us to investigate any illegal or harmful activities. We retain this information based on our legitimate interests and the potential interests of third-party victims.

Post-Retention Window

• Legal Obligations:
  • Transaction Data: Kept for 10 years to comply with tax and accounting laws.
  • Credit Card Information: Kept for the duration the user may challenge the transaction.
  • Traffic Data/Logs: Kept for one year to meet legal requirements.
  • Consent Records: Kept for five years to prove compliance with legal requirements.
• Legitimate Interests:
  • Customer Support Records: Kept for five years to support customer service and legal defense.
  • Past Accounts and Subscriptions Data: Kept for three years after your last account closure to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reporting.

• Outstanding Issues:

SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may use other third parties service providers, including without limitation, to provide certain features or financial processing service providers to process payments made on or through the Service. When you sign up for our services, we will share your personal information only as necessary for the third party to provide that service. For example, we may use AI providers, such as Cloudinary, to process images you upload. Such provider’s processing activities includes checking for the presence of faces to create an avatar associated with your account and ensuring the image is of a real human rather than a photo taken of another image.

BUSINESS TRANSITIONS

In the event Genuine Dating goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal information will likely be among the assets transferred. 

OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. We have implemented an information security program that contains administrative, technical and physical controls that are designed to reasonably safeguard personal information. 

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Service, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. If you delete your User Contributions from the Service, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or might have been copied or stored by other Service users.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to complete the transaction for which it was provided. If you wish that we no longer use your information to provide you services or products, contact us at privacy@genuine.dating. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors in your personal information by sending us a request that credibly shows errors. We don’t collect “consumer health data,” and we don’t use the data we gather to figure out or guess your physical or mental health, past, present, or future. However, because some jurisdictions define “consumer health data” very broadly, some information we collect from you might be considered “consumer health data” under those laws.
